Sarah Coles

Sarah Coles

Sarah has been a Director since 3rd June 2024. She is a chartered accountant by training with over 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. In her current role she leads a portfolio of strategic projects for the UK commercial business, including sustainability reporting, commercial frameworks and change management. Before joining Lilly, Sarah held Finance roles at BT and KPMG. She received a BSc in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol. Sarah is a keen skier and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends.

Ian Dane

Ian Dane

Ian is a Member Nominated Trustee and Chair. He retired from Lilly in 2018 after an international commercial career in Neuroscience and Diabetes. Ian was appointed a company nominated trustee in 2006 and was Chair of Trustees from 2007-2020. He then took a year’s break before returning as a trustee in 2021. He has been Chair of Trustees since August 2022.

After leaving Lilly, Ian worked as a freelance consultant and for a local charity. He closed his consulting business in 2023.

Ian is the Group Scout Leader for his local Scout Group and enjoys hiking, camping and caravaning. In his spare time, he can be found outside in his greenhouse and vegetable plot. He is married with four adult children.

Torkil Fredborg

Torkil Fredborg

Torkil joined the Trustee Board as a Member Nominated Director in 2021. He trained as a pharmacist in Denmark, where he gained his MSc from the Royal Danish School of Pharmacy, now a Faculty at the University of Copenhagen in 2000. Torkil’s is a Regulatory Affairs leader whose career at Lilly started in national and regional roles with responsibility for clinical - and regulatory strategies for new medicines and interactions with Regulatory Authorities leading regulatory submissions in a wide range of therapeutic areas.

Since 2018, Torkil has expanded his focus to international regulatory affairs, implementing global regulatory submission strategies and ensuring good regulatory practises around the world. In addition, Torkil has provided leadership to the international regulatory team focusing on development and registration of new products in the Immunology therapeutic area. In July 2024, Torkil was appointed to the Global Regulatory Affairs Leadership Team as Head, Global Regulatory Delivery and Excellence.

Karin Hendrickse

Karin Hendrickse

Karin became a company nominated Trustee whilst still working for Lilly UK in 2018.

Her 33 year Lilly career started in Sales and Marketing, and then onto management / leadership roles in HR, Customer meeting services, Sales and Corporate Affairs.

She retired in 2020 and still enjoys the connection to the company via the Pension Trustee role.

Karin has always enjoyed sports and the outdoors (in preferably the warmer climates!) making the World’s GB Age group 50-55 team for Sprint triathlon. She has more time now to swim and cycle, as well as dabble in paddle boarding and playing golf with ski-ing in the winter months.

Additionally, Karin qualified as a swim teacher in 2021 and provides cover teaching for several of our local swimming pools teaching children from ages 3-4 upwards and adults.

Kimberley Jackson

Kimberley Jackson

Kimberley has worked for Eli Lilly since 2002 employed in a variety of positions within the clinical Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) department, which is part of Lilly Research laboratories (LRL). Her current position is Associate vice-president-research in PK/PD where she is focused on supporting the clinical development of several molecules within the immunology portfolio. She started her working career as a hospital pharmacist before moving to the US to study for a PhD in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences. She then worked for a small company specializing in PK/PD before moving back to the UK when she joined Lilly at the Erl Wood site in 2002. Kimberley is now based at Arlington Square, Bracknell.

Kimberley joined the Lilly UK pension board in 2015 as a member-nominated director.

She enjoys the outdoors, walking, travel and the theatre.

Edward Levy

Edward Levy

Edward represents The Law Debenture Pension Trust Corporation p.l.c. (‘LawDeb”), a business that provides independent professional trustee services. Eli Lilly has appointed LawDeb to the Trustee Company as an independent trustee to bring experience from other pension schemes. Edward joined the trustee board in 2020.

Edward represents Law Debenture on several trustee boards for schemes ranging from £20m to £2bn in asset value. Before joining Law Debenture, he held a number of senior strategy, planning and governance roles with Aviva, Abbey National, and Lloyds TSB, following his early career in pensions as a qualified actuary.

When he’s not busy being a trustee director, Edward enjoys sport, both watching and playing - he is treasurer of a local tennis club – and spending time with his family.

Matt Potter

Matt Potter

Matt is Senior Director of IT and Analytics for UK, ROI and Nordics. He is passionate about developing people and digital transformation, to help more patients through technology and analytics.

He is a Company Nominated Director, joining the Board in 2021.

Swati Suri

Swati Suri

Swati joined Lilly in 2002 and has held roles in finance, pricing, medical and operations. She graduated in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and qualified as a chartered accountant at KPMG. She worked in audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance before moving to Lilly.

She joined the Lilly Pension Trustee Board as a Member Nominated Director in 2021.

She is also a Trustee of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, which is a charity that cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across west London and Surrey.

Swati lives in Fleet with her husband, their two daughters and dog. She enjoys dog walks in the beautiful Hampshire countryside and loves travelling.
